Account Executive

Responsibilities:

· To be able anticipate clients’ needs by creating new and innovative ideas to help clients achieve their goals
· Manage the workflow and ensure timely completions of projects undertaken
· Develop new and maintain existing client relationships, building strong relationship with them
· Liase between client and designer to fulfil the goal of our clients, as well as maintain daily contact with suppliers and sales personnel involved in the business activities.
· Expand customer base and meeting Sales Targets

Job Requirements:
- A diploma/degree in journalism, mass communications, business or finance
- Ability to communicate effectively, and possesses strong interpersonal skills
- Attuned to the brand/design culture
- Able to work well in a fast paced environment
- Experience (at least 1 year) in a creative agency, finance institutions, marketing, media, advertising, PR will be an advantage
- Possess strong leadership, time management and problem-solving skills
- Good written and spoken English is essential.
- Possess strong analytical skills, think creatively and have an eye for details

As Project Manager in Mechanical & Electrical Construction Company (M&E), his job scope entails the following responsibilities:-

• Manage a group of engineers, supervisors and sub-contractors
• Cost Budgeting for project that was assigned to me and my team
• Ensure project completion within the time frame.
• Design work in respect of the M&E Services, quality of workmanship, types of equipment/material to be used.
• Liaise with the Developer, Architect and Consultant with regards to the design, compliance to authority and end user requirements.

Being someone that is very goal-oriented, he leans towards the Modern Approach to Management. When he starts the day, he will come up with a to-do list. The list will contain the things his superior expects to be completed at the end of the day. After coming up with a list, he will then delegate his jobs to his subordinate and at the end of the day he will ensure that his staffs had completed their tasks. He believes that if one set goals for both the staff and for themselves, one will be able to know how much his staffs have accomplished at the end of the day.

He also practises some of the principals in the human relations school of thought. He always ensures that his staffs practices safety precautions, especially in this line of work. He will regular check up on their welfare.

Whatever difficulties he encounters during his core duties is part and partial of the construction industry. The difficulties normally occur in construction industry are:

• shortage of Manpower/material. There are even instances when there was a short fall of labour supply as the completion of the project near as every section of the projectbecoming urgent
• slow in progress of work
• safety issue etc

To overcome the difficulties, he thinks these factors are important:
• one must stay focus
• extend the working hours
• sub out the area to more sub contractors.
• attend meetings, update, feedback, problem

For the matter of the labour supply shortage, he overcome the problem by having discussing and brain storming with my engineers.

He believes no one is a perfect manager but to be a good manage one must have at least a few of these qualities:
• Good inter-personal skills from different level – from top management to workers of different nationalities
• courage to overcome what is in front of you
• good communication skill. Knowing different languages is an asset .
• Lastly one must be humble and trustworthy.
• Good industry know-how , contacts and product knowledge
• Organize and time management skills
• Be able to solve impromptu problems and come up with immediate solutions
